Prepare these vegan Apple Scones, they are wholesome (with oat flour or blended oats and almond flour), super yummy, soft on the inside, and crispy on the outside. These scones are easy to make and naturally Gluten Free if using GF oat flour. Made with simple ingredients.
Wholesome Ingredients for these Vegan Apple Scones:
- Oat and Almond Flour
- Cornstarch
- Unsweetened plant milk
- Dates or Date Paste as a natural sweetener
- Apples or Applesauce
- Almond Butter (or your favorite one)
- Cinnamon and ginger powder
- Baking Powder
How to make these Wholesome Apple Scones:
- Hydrate the dates and apple in cubes in hot water for 10 min. If you use applesauce, only hydrate the dates.
- In a small blender add the wet ingredients (apple in cubes or applesauce, dates, and plant milk).
- Into a bowl, add dry ingredients and whisk until well combined: oat flour, almond flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger powder, and sea salt.
- Add blended wet ingredients to the bowl.
- Then add the almond butter and combine with a spatula.
- Add the diced fresh apple or frozen berries of your choice.
- Roll the dough into a ball and then flatten it onto a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Form a disk with the dough about 2 cm thick. Cut the disk into 6 pieces with a sharp knife and separate the pieces.
- Brush the scones with extra soy milk and then bake at 180ºC for 20 min or until golden brown.
- Enjoy with vegan white chocolate, speculoos butter or easy icing.
Ways to Serve Wholesome Apple Scones?
These Scones are so versatile depending on the Season you bake them. If you want to bake them in Fall, add the diced apples into the dough but if you bake them in Spring-Summer, add the frozen berries! We like to drizzle the scones with different creams:
- Melted vegan white chocolate
- Speculoos butter (our favorite for the Fall season!)
- Easy icing (perfect for Spring!)
